Just like everything in this world my VPSes are getting more expensive because of AI going from €3.92 to €4.72. I don’t like it, but it’s fine, it’s still cheap for 4 cores, 8 GB ram and 150GB SSD. But Contabo (my VPS provider) gave long-time customers (that’s me) a deal to make the transition to the higher price easier. So for that ‘unbearable’ 80 cent price increase they are offering to upgrade all 3 of my servers to the next spec up. So going to 6 cores, 12 GB ram 250GB SSD for just €4.72. That’s a deal I will take any day of the week. They technically still did an up-sell since downgrading a VPS is not possible so migration down is a lot of work generally. They are getting more money. But I was running out of RAM and storage anyway. I don’t know how they make money with these kinds of deals.
